FIRST DATE                FIRST DATE                 FIRST DATE

When you're finally ready to set up a date, below you'll learn some key pointers on how to go about it. You'll also discover key insights about what to expect, and how to ease the first date tension. Included are even a few first date ideas and suggestions. Check them out below!

On your first free personals date, it's very important to remember to be yourself. A comedian once gave this great dating insight - when you first meet someone, you aren't really meeting that person - you are meeting their "personal representative" instead. That is very true. But still, even though you may be nervous or anxious, you should really try to relax and just be yourself. Many people can easily sense when a person is trying to project an image other than their own and hence your "act" simply won't fool anyone.  So just be yourself!

Be agreeable about the "date" plans. Try to suggest things that would be of interest to both of you. If you have a specific place that you want to go to on your first date, mention it with a couple of other options and see what your date says. He/she may even know of a better place that you are unaware of, so don't be afraid to ask for, or accept your date's suggestions.

First date ideas are not always easy to come up with. You can always go the traditional "dinner and a movie" route, but doing something different can be a lot better when you simply want to get to know someone. An afternoon trip to the zoo, picnic in the park, or bike ride can help ease some of the first-date tension. If you can think of a date atmosphere where you won't be distracted or constantly interrupted, you will have a far better chance to talk and get to know one another.

Don't expect too much on the first date. After all, you just met this person. You both may need some time to get to know each other better "in real life," before getting too serious. Then again, you may hit it off right from the start. Just go into the date relaxed without any expectations, and play it by ear.
